How it all started...
Gordon Veldboom and his wife Helen started "Field Tree" back in the 1980's. They wanted to pursue their passion of helping the community and also be able to do something that they both love to do, together. Here is their story in Gordy’s words:

“In the 1980’s Helen and I decided to do something together. Field Tree Realty really started out with an idea that Helen and I discussed a few times. We wanted to do something together, just her and me.
​
After we got our agent’s and broker’s licenses, we started Field Tree Realty. We chose that name because “Field Tree” is the meaning of “Veldboom” in Dutch. I provided the ideas, and Helen did most of the work.
Helen realized my love for Oostburg and often said, “Gordy can’t stand to see an empty building or a vacant lot. What can I do there that is something that Oostburg needs?” Her observation was correct.

Field Tree Realty eventually grew into Field Tree Construction Management which is now a subsidiary of Oostburg Concrete.
​
In 1982, we began our development and investment company. It is called V&V Investments. To date, this company has developed twenty-two subdivisions and more than 1000 housing projects. Some were single family homes, and many were condos.
​
I personally owe a sincere debt of gratitude to my wife, Helen, and my daughter, Sandy. Helen sold hundreds of properties in the twenty years she worked in the housing market, and Sandy followed over the next twenty years and matched the number her mother constructed. I couldn’t be more proud of them for providing great quality and affordable housing in the Oostburg area for over forty years. What a great job they did!

This truly has been a family journey. Our children and grandchildren have worked alongside by side in all these endeavors and have shared in the same pride we have for our community. We as a family have been “Greatly Blessed.”

My main point or purpose of this story is to show how everything in the community worked together to make growth a reality I the Village of Oostburg. I love this community and enjoy working in it and watching it grow!”

Gordy and Helen pursued their passion for real estate development, construction, and design in the Oostburg area and have continued their legacy ever since. They have since stepped back a bit from the day-to-day duties but their care for the community still affects Field Tree's business model to this day.
​
Their daughter, Sandy VanEss took over the reins in the early 2000's and continued their vision of building beautiful homes for people in their community. In late 2023, Sandy left to pursue other dreams in the real estate field.

How it's going...
In March of 2024, Stacy Peters joined Field Tree Construction Management and now oversees the day-to-day residential construction and development operations.

Before joining Field Tree, Stacy spent nine years in La Crosse County, Wisconsin, where she managed the design and construction of spec homes and condominium projects. Her experience in residential planning, design coordination, budgeting, contractor management, and project oversight now supports Field Tree’s continued commitment to quality construction and thoughtful development.

Today, Stacy manages projects from early planning through homeowner closing, helping guide custom homes, move-in-ready homes, condominium construction, and residential development opportunities with a strong focus on quality, communication, and long-term value.
